The Aasta Hansteen field discovered in the Norwegian Sea is located in the Voring area, 300 kilometers away from the coast, at a depth of 1300 meters.
The discovery dates back to 1997. Recoverable resources are estimated in 47 billion standard cubic meters (Sm3) of gas.
Due to the adverse weather conditions and considerable depth of the field, recovery of resources from the Aasta Hansteen field is a tough undertaking,
The Field development includes a SPAR platform which will actually be the first installation of this type on the Norwegian continental shelf. SPAR is a floating floor made up of a vertical column anchored to the sea bottom. This installation has traditional topsides with processing facilities. Branches carrying the gas from the sea bottom to the platform and then to Polarled will be made of pure steel, and will be the first of this type on the Norwegian continental shelf. The hull will be equipped with a condensate storage system. The condensate will be loaded on a shuttle tanker.
Albizzati Spa was invited to participate to this challenging project with the construction of bleed lines.
